People who have followed me on twitter for a long time will know I have a thing for hats. Partly because I have fine hair and burn so easily I always have to wear a hat in the sunshine (a burnt scalp is particularly painful) but mainly because I love hats. Woolly hand knitted ones, large brimmed straw ones, bowler hats, jaunty angled funky ones. Our house has a large selection, especially as my kids look even better in hats than I do. So last night I managed to photograph a few. I got carried away and have 10 pics I like. So here is a collage of 9, I did two versions a black and white and a colour version. Let me know your preference as they are a bit different.

What a lovely collection . . . the colour collage brings out the detail more . . . but I actually think the monochrome version has a more “fashionista” style.

Wonderful! Your photography is so clever.
I love both them but there is a strength to the shadows on the wall in the black and white version that just gives an edge over the colour version for me.

I’m with Molly on this… shadows are an artistic thing for me. But the warmth of the colour photos is divine too. Like you and your hats I just can’t truly decide..

I know what you mean about a burnt scalp but I never learn! I have winter hats but they’re knitted animals, nothing sensible!
